Transfers |
Transfers are aimed at players who intend to play for a club for a prolonged period of time. The transfer period for inter-county players for all codes has a deadline date of March 31st. No transfers will be accepted after that date. Please note that any player who is transferring from Ireland or another county but who is already resident in Canada can get an inter-county transfer up until that date.
Hurling: All hurling transfers are done through the online PTS (Player Transfer system). To obtain a transfer and play for Na Piarsaigh CLG, you should first contact us for more information. Transfers are only available at certain times of the year, and from certain jurisdictions. Approved transfers will be shown in this list. Camogie: For any camogie transfers in Canada, the below cc4 transfer form must be completed. There is no online system. Similar to the LGFA transfers, the player must complete the required fields and get their club and county secretaries in Ireland or another county to also sign off on the transfer. The deadlines of March 31st is strongly enforced for all GAA codes and there are no exemption after this date.

Sanctions |
Within the jurisdiction of the Canadian County Board, sanctions are aimed at players wishing to play for the club for one season. They would then return to their 'home' club. Any player who is not resident in Canada by the transfer deadline of March 31st will be able to obtain a Sanction/Permit should they plan on joining a club in Canada
A sanction must be applied for by the player, and sanction insurance must be purchased along with it. Croke Park will not consider an application fully filled if the insurance is not purchased beforehand, and a receipt submitted with the application. If a player has Ontario Health Insurance (OHIP), this can be used in lieu of purchasing the sanction insurance. Please contact the club for more information. The closing date for sanction applications to be received in Croke Park is 1 July, so it is advisable to apply well in advance. Na Piarsaigh must approve all sanctions before they are granted and confirmed by Croke Park, so make sure to contact us before you apply.
